As a general rule, every ten years. Every licence holder must undergo a medical examination every ten (10) years; the first must take place at the latest within three months following the expiry of the ninth year after the licence was issued at the end of the probationary period (art. 14).
However, more frequent intervals apply in certain cases (art. 14):
- Drivers over 65: examination every two years, the first within three months following the anniversary date of turning 65;
- Drivers of goods transport or public passenger transport vehicles: examination every two years.
Additional examinations are also provided for (art. 15):
- within 30 days of the onset of an illness or incapacity appearing on the administration's list;
- on the administration's order, if you have caused an accident resulting in involuntary manslaughter.
Finally, remember that the very first medical examination is required before the licence exam (art. 12). The examinations must be carried out by approved doctors who meet the conditions of Article 21 (art. 16).
